About This Project

There are three goals for this project:

  1. Make the diary of Margaret Sheldon easy to read, understand and navigate.
  2. Inspire a younger generation to do great things for the Kingdom of God.
  3. Demonstrate a novel approach to historical journals and diaries.

All materials are provided and owned by The Salvation Army National Archives.

The approach of this blog site is to present a historical journal as if it had been written in a modern blog form. Adding hyperlinks and historical media enriches the experience and brings understanding to the original text of the diarist. Tags and categories aid the reader in finding different types of content captured in the diary.

Typographic errors and spelling irregularities have been altered from the original for clarity. No changes have been made to the original content.

If any Salvation Army historian has any corrected information to contribute to this project, please contact me at donutgirl@nimeth.com, and the blog and/or links will gladly be updated.

This work is in progress and has been undertaken by Matthew Bray Nimeth to contribute to his Ph.D. at The University of the Cumberlands.
