            Busy.

            There was heavy firing the whole night and day, and in the evening there was a raid. The French lost. One thousand men killed, wounded .and prisoners. Fifty of our men killed and wounded. Saw the fight between four planes and the Germans came down.

            Made forty pies and 2 thousand donuts. One lot of pies and donuts went to the front. Every day men come from the trenches for homemade eats, and it’s such a pleasure to be able to give it to them.
