Baked as usual. The truck came and brought more girls. Capt. Bishop came to help. She is a very pleasant and cheerful girl. It was a very busy and happy day. Five of us slept in the room, a regular slum home but a happy one.

Made pies and donuts and it was fine. Oh, how the boys do enjoy the eats. They lined up like the chow line and laughed and enjoyed themselves very much.

Goodbye Ansauville. Left and went to Ligny and stayed there overnight. Then to my first place in charge. Capt. Young and Lt. Fussel are here. The 18th boys are here and are a fine lot. We have a nice hut and it is the popular place of the village.

Cleaned up and baked. Served 25 breakfasts to some boys who missed theirs. All is well.

A usual day, plenty to do but two happy girls to do it. Made plenty of cocoa and coffee. Mended gloves and tried to make others happy.
