A very pleasant day. We found the hut all cleaned and fine. The war is hard and the loss of life sad.

A very quiet day. Raining and cold, plenty of wind but no sun. Had a good night’s rest in our own bed.

Had a quiet day. Capt. was away all day. At night we left and slept in a truck. It was fun but at four the boys came to move the troops and we couldn’t get in our rooms so had to climb in a window.

Had a fine concert given by the 28th band. Many of the boys came in and had cocoa. They sure did look tired and sick. Twenty one days at the front and only forty hours sleep.

There is a movement of troops. Many were killed while changing. Seven U.D. came back empty. Think of the terrible loss. A wonderful day but sad. Russel left for home. Many of the boys have been killed. I took pictures of some of the Supply Train.
