Wednesday, May 8, 1918

The Y. gave a time in our hut and we had a jolly time. It is terrible; very heavy firing all the time.

Tuesday, May 7, 1918

We made cocoa and the men enjoyed it very much. A noisy day and night. There are many sad hearts, brave Mothers. The boy are such brave men. This is the best bunch I have been with.

This was a day of hard fighting and much loss. A very busy day for the Red Cross. Many of our boys were gassed.

Had a very interesting time. The French band gave a program and we had a man speak. Rev. Ferdick from N.Y. At seven we had our own meeting and 22 raised their hands for prayer and 18 got saved. One fine day after a heavy thunder storm. Went to dinner with staff and had lots of fun.

A wonderful and busy day. The air raids are terrible, many planes and much noise. But our boys are busy. I went with Staff to Lignu on a shopping trip and had a lot of fun. Saw two French funerals.
