Wednesday, April 17, 1918
The men are off. Left at seven and the greatest sight I ever saw. The march lasted about six hours and it was a real treat to sing goodbye and a cheer. The happiest bunch of men I ever saw. God bless our boys. Then we cleaned up and had dinner. Then we went to Searso. On my way back I met the Col. and he was a pleasant caller.

Fixed the benches and chairs and viewed the land. Went to the next town called Trencha rau that is my boys resting place. They were very glad to see me, but could not locate until late.

Tuesday, April 9, 1918
Got up and had breakfast. Got in the car and rode for some time, then saw a soldier shaving by the roadside. It was a real treat. We greeted him with joy, and he told us there were more farther on. We went on and came to the A.N.T. Oh my the cheers that went up then. We went on and soon saw the dear 18th and such joy to see them. How we did shout. Then on to Trei La Ville. Put the car on the side. Had an invite to dinner and had beans, black bread, and water and eating with our pen knife. It was fine. Then put up a tent and fixed it all up fine; the men helped. Found a place to eat and got a billet and retired tired and happy because we were all home.

Raining and cold. We stayed in our room till dinner then got on the truck and drove to Neaulen. Stayed in the best hotel. Had a good fire and a warm supper. Then to bed and it was a treat to retire warm. Tired but happy.
