Sunday, a bright day. Had a very good meeting. Had no supplies. Talked to many of the men and helped to cheer some. The Germans are making things hum, but our boys are doing their best. Had a fierce time and hope it don’t last.

A very busy day. We had a very good meeting in the morning. A visitor, Lt. Merry, led. Adj. got dinner for them. Meeting at night; the best we ever had. One of the men played and another sang, and several spoke. A good spirit was felt.

Meeting. Song Service. Made 20 pies and 300 donuts. The men come over on horseback and call, “Any pies today?” One of the officers came in and when he saw the pies he said, “Oh, homemade!” and took a sample and then a pie.

Had a very busy time serving coffee. Had a good meeting. Some of the officers came in and told us that The Salvation Army was doing a good work in all the camps but especially in Montiers.
