Came home and got located in a fine place. It had been a dance hall before the war and made a good place for us. Had a fine billet too.

Fixed the benches and chairs and viewed the land. Went to the next town called Trencha rau that is my boys resting place. They were very glad to see me, but could not locate until late.

Goodbye to St. Jorve. Capt. Bishop went to Sammy. We backed the boys and made hot cakes and finished packing. Hickie and Col. came for dinner, and we had none but helped get things on the truck. Tuesday, March 19, 1918

Goodbye Ansauville. Left and went to Ligny and stayed there overnight. Then to my first place in charge. Capt. Young and Lt. Fussel are here. The 18th boys are here and are a fine lot. We have a nice hut and it is the popular place of the village.
