Tuesday, May 7, 1918

We made cocoa and the men enjoyed it very much. A noisy day and night. There are many sad hearts, brave Mothers. The boy are such brave men. This is the best bunch I have been with.

Wednesday, April 17, 1918

The men are off. Left at seven and the greatest sight I ever saw. The march lasted about six hours and it was a real treat to sing goodbye and a cheer. The happiest bunch of men I ever saw. Monday, April 8, 1918

Raining and cold. We stayed in our room till dinner then got on the truck and drove to Neaulen. Stayed in the best hotel. Had a good fire and a warm supper. Then to bed and it was a treat to retire warm. Tired but happy.

Wednesday, April 3, 1918

Lt. was told that she was to go to another place. All was well but Capt. B. and Lt. were out walking and Capt. Y. and I kept house. It was a great time. They ask me if we are going with them and we want to go.

Monday, April 1, 1918

A busy day. Made pies and donuts. The boys are to leave. We have been out of flour and sugar all week and cooked only what the different ones would bring. It was fine.
